One Man’s Trash is Another Man’s Treasure

Monday, November 10th, 2008

This past weekend I had a garage sale. It was a lot of work to get ready for it. I basically spent the past 2 weeks raiding our garages, sorting, organizing, moving, pricing, etc. I had everything from furniture to clothes to books and videos to even underware. While sorting, my mom told me not to put the underware in the garage sale.

Mom: Why don’t you just leave those out-no one is going to want your underware.

Me: You never know, mom…Danae’s grandmother used to buy her some underware from garage sales.

Mom: Whatever.

Who knew if would be a top seller! Ratio wise, I sold more underwear than anything else! One girl bought EIGHT pairs of my underwear! I made a overwhelming $2.00 off her purchases, which is really not enough money to go buy a brand new pair of underwear, but heck! It’s $2.00 I didn’t have before. Now I really don’t understand why anyone would WANT old underwear from someone they don’t know, but I am not complaining.

In all, I made about $200 at my garage sale. Not as much as I wanted, but better than nothing, right. And most all of that money will go to pay for the clogged pipes I recently had to pay to fix. Yay for homeownership!!

ROCK the Vote

These are just a few pictures I have taken in Huntsville. The first is of a car that was at an HHS football game and the second I took just this morning, outside Southside Baptist Church, where I was assigned to vote at…strategic placement of the sign I think 🙂

Trust in Christ ONLY

Trust in Christ ONLY!

Just a reminder, despite what the outcome is today, the Lord is still in control. He is the ONLY one we can put our trust in. He is not surprised by the events and He is not unsure how He is going to take care of his children. We can remain hopeful and encouraged if we keep trusting in God.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
